Make a Difference

It costs over $240,000 each year to operate our LHS debate program for the students it serves (currently, approximately 150), covering not only fees for tournament entry, judges for tournaments, and coaches, but also traveling costs (if applicable). The funding from LHS and proceeds from debate tournaments typically cover about half of the cost, while the guardian donation for each debate student covers the majority of the remaining cost (over 70%) and LDI profit and community donation covers the rest. Therefore, the guardian donation is critical for the success of LHS debate program. Below is the suggested donation amount for each student you have, per their grade and debate type in school year.
